As Communications Specialist for Interstate Batteries, a Fortune 500, privately held group of companies that sell, market, and distribute more than 16,000 types of batteries and related products, including automotive replacement batteries, served as Managing Editor in charge of content for InterstateDealers.com and CURRENT magazine (content included on InterstateDealers.com and delivered to Interstate Dealers, a national network of more than 200,000 dealers). SLI (starting, lighting, ignition) sales volume for the fiscal year increased by 7 percent. Secured copy approvals from department managers, directors, and distributors. Worked with vendors regarding press and printing deadlines. Wrote, edited, and proofread articles with information about POP, signage, and online tools and resources to help dealers sell batteries.
Managed marketing projects and advertising collateral for communications, marketing, international, and recycling departments. Using brand standards and AP Style, worked with writers, designers, and web team to approve the quality of content and visuals for internal and external websites, communications, and sales collateral, including InterstateBatteries.com, company intranet, social media platforms, direct mail, and enewsletter for route sales managers. Secured approvals through the communications, marketing, and independent distributors departments.
